This Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store and protect it, when we share it, and your rights and choices. We designed TrustFirst to be a safe global social platform for both adults and minors, with strong identity verification and safety systems.

2.1 Information You Provide

• Name, username, and profile information
• Email address or phone number
• Date of birth (for age verification)
• Profile picture and uploaded content (posts, videos, images, messages)
• Parent/guardian information for Kid Accounts
• Content you create or send on the platform

2.2 Verification Information

• A verification document you submit for a badge, reviewed by our team and then deleted. We ask you to cover your ID number first, and we keep only the outcome, never the document
• Facial verification data (via camera-based verification system)
• Device and authentication signals used for identity confirmation

This information is used strictly for verification and safety.

2.3 Device & Usage Information

• Device type, operating system, and browser
• IP address and network information
• App usage activity (time spent, features used)
• Interaction behavior (likes, follows, messages, views)
• Crash logs and performance data

2.4 Content & Communication Data

• Posts, comments, messages, and livestream activity
• Shared media (photos, videos, audio)
• Engagement data (likes, shares, bookmarks)
• Message metadata (time sent, recipient, etc.)

2.5 Parent & Kid Account Data

• Linked parent account username
• Approval records from parents
• Activity reports shared with guardians

4. How We Share Information

We do NOT sell your personal data.

4.1 With Other Users

• Your profile, posts, and public activity are visible based on your settings
• Verified users may interact with non-verified users under restricted conditions

4.2 With Service Providers

• Google Cloud Vision (automated safety checks on images)
• LiveKit (live video streaming)
• Hosting and cloud providers (Supabase, Render)
• Security and anti-fraud systems

These providers are only allowed to use data to support TrustFirst.

4.3 Legal Requirements

• South African law
• Court orders or legal requests
• Law enforcement investigations

5. Data Retention & Deletion

• When you delete your account, all associated data is deleted immediately
• Some limited data may be retained only where required by law or security obligations
• After deletion, your profile and content are no longer visible on the platform

6. Children's Privacy (Kid Accounts)

TrustFirst takes child safety seriously.

• Users under 18 must have a linked parent or guardian account
• Parents must approve account creation
• Parents may receive activity reports
• Certain features are restricted for minors
• We do not knowingly allow unsafe or unmonitored child usage

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you logged in, understand app performance, and improve user experience and security.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption, access controls, row-level database security and fraud detection. Verification documents are held in private storage that only a reviewer can open, and are deleted as soon as the application is decided, or automatically after 7 days if it is never reviewed. However, no system is 100% secure.

9. International Use

TrustFirst is a global platform. Your data may be processed in different countries, including servers outside South Africa, to ensure proper operation of the Service.

Welcome to TrustFirst. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TrustFirst (the "Service"). By accessing or using TrustFirst, you agree to be bound by these Terms. TrustFirst is a social media platform designed to provide a safe, inclusive, and controlled environment for both adults and minors, with strong protections against harmful content, bots, scams, and unsafe interactions.

1. The TrustFirst Service

TrustFirst is a global social media platform that allows users to:

• Create and share content (posts, photos, videos, and messages)
• Follow and interact with other users
• Participate in livestreams
• Save and share content

TrustFirst prioritizes safety, authenticity, and responsible communication through identity verification and content moderation systems.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old
• Users under 18 ("Kid Accounts") must have an approved parent or guardian linked to their account
• You must not be legally prohibited from using the Service in your jurisdiction

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for users who violate these Terms.

3. Account Types & Verification

3.1 Verified Accounts

To become a verified user and receive a checkmark, users must complete identity verification through:

• A government-issued ID reviewed by our team, with the ID number covered, which is deleted once the review is done, OR
• Alternative camera-based identity verification system (facial verification system)

Verified users gain full platform access including posting, commenting, starting conversations, and full interaction features.

3.2 Non-Verified Accounts

Users who choose not to verify may view content, bookmark posts, share content, and message verified users who follow them. However, non-verified users cannot post content, cannot comment, and cannot initiate conversations with verified users. This system is designed to reduce spam, bots, and abuse.

4. Kid Accounts (Parental Control System)

• A parent or guardian account must be linked and approved during setup
• The parent must approve the child's account
• All activity from Kid Accounts may be visible to the linked parent account
• Parents may receive activity reports and oversight notifications
• Certain features may be restricted for safety

5. User Content & Conduct

5.1 Prohibited Content

• Nudity or sexual content
• Scams, fraud, or deceptive practices
• Hate speech or harmful discrimination
• Illegal content or promotion of illegal activity
• Explicit violence or graphic harm
• Spam, bot activity, or impersonation

Political or controversial discussion is allowed, provided it does not violate safety rules.

6. Content Ownership & License

Users retain full ownership of all content they create and upload. However, by posting on TrustFirst, you grant TrustFirst a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable license to host, display, distribute, and operate your content within the Service.

6.1 Watermarking

All video content posted on TrustFirst will include a TrustFirst watermark to protect against unauthorized redistribution and content theft.

7. Messaging & Communication Rules

• Only verified users can freely message other users
• Non-verified users can only message verified users who follow them first
• Verified users may control who can contact them

8. Safety & Moderation

TrustFirst actively moderates content and user behavior. We may remove content without prior notice if it violates these Terms, restrict or suspend accounts, and permanently ban repeat offenders or serious violators.

9. Data & Privacy

• Does not sell user data
• Does not use advertising systems (no ads platform)
• Uses data only to operate, secure, and improve the Service
• Uses AI systems only for moderation and recommendation purposes

10. Payments & Monetization

TrustFirst does not directly handle user funds. Users may purchase virtual coins via Google Play or Apple App Store. Coins may be used to gift livestream creators. TrustFirst does not process or store banking information directly. All purchases are final. No refunds are provided.

11. Account Termination & Deletion

TrustFirst may suspend or terminate accounts for violations and permanently ban repeat offenders. User accounts and associated data are deleted immediately upon deletion request, except where required for legal or security obligations.

12. Liability Disclaimer

TrustFirst is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for user-generated content, actions of users on the platform, or loss of data or damages resulting from use of the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrustFirst shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa, unless otherwise required by law.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Users will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of TrustFirst after updates means acceptance of the revised Terms.
